Due to low registration numbers we have cancelled the product show portion of EduCon.

We are still continuing with the seminar portion of EduCon in a condensed time frame.

Seminar I
Decorative Surfaces Overview
Description:

Decorative Surfaces Overview addresses all types of laminates and their benefits for specifiers and end users. The course will cover a brief history of laminates, product selection based on needs, and different types of laminates and their key purchasing factors. Topics include high pressure laminates, fiber reinforced laminates, and thermofused laminates, in addition to a number of specialty laminates. The course will also address key market segments for laminates, their issues and how decorative surfaces address those issues.

Julie has thirteen years of experience in retail and hospitality design, as a Designer and Materials Coordinator.  As a materials specialist, she consulted with architects, designers, and end users, developing specifications for brand image programs and multi-unit retail prototypes.  As a Panolam spec rep, she continues to educate her customers on the latest innovations in decorative surfaces and the specification process.

Thin, Large Format Pocelain Tile
Description:

Ceramic tile is a well-known building material that has been used for interior and exterior walls and floors for centuries. While ceramic is a proven material, porcelain tile has gained in popularity because it is an improved product with superior performance characteristics such as strength, resistance to stains, and durability.  This course will explore large-Format, thin porcelain panels.

Ric is a 20 year veteran with Florida Tile. He has conducted several CEUs regarding thin tile,  both with installation and product application. He has been involved in several CTEF installer events within the market area.  He is CCTS certified, a member of  the HBA,  both in  Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, a NKBA member and a  Miami University Alumni and graduate.

Aesthetically Designed Architectural Door Openings

Description:

An overview of the importance and choices available to improve the aesthetics of architectural door openings. This program will explore the benefits and challenges of utilizing aesthetic doors and hardware and investigate the various codes as related to doors and hardware, which effect the product selection. This program will also describe the various designs and color/finishes available to create an aesthetically pleasing opening.

Specifying Paint: Tools and Technologies for Commercial Projects
Description:

Color… sheen… product type… project certification… special properties… environmental standards... what do you need to consider when selecting coatings for your commercial projects?  Specifying paint is more than just picking a color.  This course will help you understand which types of paints will provide the best outcome for your project, as well as the knowledge you need to ensure the coatings you select in the planning and design phase are specified in the construction manual and finish schedule.

Angela has held many positions throughout her career with Sherwin-Willams and currently holds the position of Architectural Account Executive for the company’s The Americas Group division.   She is responsible for driving product and color specifications in the Indiana, Southern Ohio, and Kentucky markets.  Angela is a coating specification adviser who recommends coatings solutions and customized specifications for her clients.  She also conducts CEU accredited courses for Architectural firms and various Industry organizations.

Angela has achieved her Construction Documents Technologist certificate and has served as the CSI Phoenix Chapter President from 2012-2013.
